Simona Frigerio (1974) is a Dutch-Italian artist who studied Textile & Fashion at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She lives and works in Wassenaar, the Netherlands, where she creates abstract figurative paintings.

Her work develops intuitively, guided by lines, colour and the forms that gradually emerge on the canvas. Rather than telling a fixed story, her paintings leave space for interpretation, inviting viewers to bring their own thoughts, memories and associations to the work.

Nature and the landscape surrounding her studio are a constant source of inspiration. This is reflected in a warm, earthy palette of muted reds, ochres, soft grey-blues, gentle greens and pastel pinks. Each painting is built up in layers, creating depth and texture as lines, colours and abstract forms gradually emerge.

Located directly across from Museum Voorlinden, her studio is closely connected to the natural and artistic surroundings of Wassenaar. Visitors are warmly welcome by appointment to discover the paintings and experience the place where they are created.
